INTERVENTIONAL PAIN MANAGEMENT
A Path to Healing
At Synergy, we consider interventional pain management treatments a means to the end. The goal is true healing. These injection techniques provide nearly immediate pain relief. When the pain has subsided and you’re able to comfortably move, we’ll work on rebuilding weakened muscles, restoring range of motion, and rehabilitating your body. Our interventional pain management plans are constructed to permanently remove pain and give you a stronger, healthier body that’s more resilient to injury and wear.
Lumbar and Cervical Spine Epidurals
A steroid injection into the epidural area of your neck or spine that provides quick relief for neck pain, lower back pain, and sciatica. This relief can last from a week up to a year.
For acute pain in your back, shoulder, or other areas, we can inject an anesthetic medication directly around the nerves that are causing your pain. This provides immediate relief for a few hours so you can receive physical therapy, chiropractic care, or other treatments without pain.
SI Joint Injections
An injection of numbing and anti-inflammatory medications directly into your sacroiliac joint (connects your spine to your hips) that provides instant pain relief and lasts for weeks to months.
Hyaluronic Acid Injections
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that acts as a cushion, lubricant, and pain reliever inside of your knee joints. It effectively replaces the natural lubricants you’ve lost, allowing you to walk again without knee pain. We use a fluoroscope (live motion x-ray) to ensure the injection hits the targeted area. Hyaluronic acid injections are long lasting and can result in many years of pain-free knees.
Radiofrequency ablation effectively disrupts specific nerves’ pain signals to help relieve severe neck or back pain. We target the medial or branch nerves in your spine under the guidance of a fluoroscope for precision accuracy, and we use radiofrequency to identify the nerve that is signaling your pain. We then use radio-waves to permanently disable that specific nerve.
